The Village PM 1PM Black is a low-profile suede skate shoe built to fit close to the foot, break in quickly, and keep board feel intact. Its all-black appearance is appropriately inconspicuous. The construction is less quiet about its intentions.

Village PM’s Rubber Glove Technology uses soft, sticky natural rubber manually wrapped around the foot. It isn’t vulcanized or a cupsole. Instead, the construction is designed to stay close through the shoe’s lifespan, with rubber engineered for a quick break-in, consistent flick, and durability.

The asymmetrical shape follows the natural form of the foot and wraps closely around the toes. Full-foot asymmetrical lacing extends down the shoe for more precise adjustment. At the forefoot, soft climbing rubber is hand-wrapped into a rand that supplies the grip needed for repeated flicks.

Underfoot, a drop-in EVA midsole puts thicker cushioning beneath the heel for impact protection, then gradually thins toward the forefoot for board feel. A durable rubber outsole is designed to break in easily rather than spending the first week behaving like rented footwear.

Embroidered heel pull tabs make getting the shoes on a little quicker. Fit runs mostly true to size, though Village PM notes that wider feet may find them tight. A half size up is recommended when in doubt.
